Why Volunteer?


Volunteering can reduce stress and make you healthier by improving mood and emotions. Through volunteering, you can gain professional experience and learn new skills. Volunteering brings people together by building camaraderie and teamwork. It promotes personal growth and self-esteem by understand your community's needs. Lastly, volunteering gives you a chance to give back and YOU can make a difference! So if you have a few extra hours, consider donating your time to volunteer at your Senior Center.

Volunteers Needed!

We need volunteers for:

  • Cheshire Village at Home
    • Drivers (especially in Keene)
    • Shift Coordinators (schedule service calls)
    • Other - visits, lend a hand, work where needed
  • Front Office Support
  • Garden Fresh Fridays
    • Help with meal prep, cooking, serving, and dessert baking
  • Thrift Shop
    • Greet customers and keep the shop neat and tidy
  • Program Leadership
    • Design a program and lead it
  • Turn Up Garden Club
    • Help with planning, planting and harvesting
  • Painting and small construction projects
  • Internships
    • Nutrition, Communications, Graphic Design and Art, Sociology

Volunteering is fun!

Our volunteers love to help out, and they get more back in enjoyment and pleasure than they give to the Center. We could not manage without our volunteers - they are truly making a difference in their community!
