Three Career Opportunities at the Senior Center

Senior Center Administrative Assistant

1. Administrative Assistant

Hours: Part Time-Full Time 

Start Date: ASAP

The Keene Senior Center is seeking a dynamic, dependable Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role requires someone who is computer-savvy, a quick learner, and enjoys working with people in a warm and professional setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative support to staff and members
  • Assist the marketing coordinator with social media (especially Facebook)
  • Work with numbers, generate reports, and maintain accurate records
  • Use software tools such as Microsoft Excel, Little Green Light, and other data management platforms
  • Lift and carry up to 20 pounds as needed
  • Contribute to written materials such as newsletters, emails, or event postings
  • Support and manage projects involving AI tools

Ideal Candidate Qualities:

  • Friendly, empathetic, and professional demeanor
  • Honest, reliable, and down-to-earth attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Comfortable using and learning new software and technologies
  • Previous experience in a nonprofit or community setting is a plus

2. Grant-Funded Development Specialist

Hours: Part Time (Hybrid)

Start Date: ASAP

The Keene Senior Center is seeking a part-time Grant-Funded Development Specialist to join our team through December 2025. This role is vital to supporting our mission to enhance the lives of area seniors by strengthening our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. College students are welcome to apply. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Secure funding through grants, sponsorships, and individual gifts
  • Cultivate new donor relationships
  • Research prospective donors and funding sources
  • Maintain and update records in the Little Green Light donor database
  • Create and distribute mail appeals to targeted stakeholders
  • Develop post-event reports to evaluate marketing effectiveness
  • Collaborate closely with the Development, Program, and Finance Committees

Qualifications:

  • College coursework or professional experience in development, fundraising, or related fields
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Familiarity with donor databases (Little Green Light experience preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment

Position Details:

• Part-time, temporary (through December 2025)

• Hybrid schedule (some remote work possible)

3. Volunteer Opportunities

Hours: Flexible

Start Date: ASAP

Are you a retired individual looking to give back, stay active, and be part of a vibrant community? The Keene Senior Center, home to over 430 members and a wide range of programs, is seeking dedicated volunteers to help us continue serving our members with warmth and excellence.

We’re Looking for Volunteers to Help with:

  • Registering new members and making them feel welcome
  • Assisting with our member database (training provided)
  • Assist with purchases in our women’s used clothing store
  • Welcoming and orienting new members to our programs and benefits
  • Helping manage our library and music CD collection

Whether you have strong organizational skills, enjoy meeting new people, or simply want to stay engaged, there’s a meaningful role for you here!
