DownloadOn April 6, 2024, the Keene Senior Center hosted its premiere Airport Run, with over 237 participants at the Dillant-Hopkins Airport in Keene, NH. Thanks to generous sponsorships, the event raised more than $18,000 to underwrite the Cheshire Village at Home program and the Senior Center’s activities. We thank our past sponsors and welcome new ones!
In Cheshire County, 1 in 5 residents is 65 or older, which is expected to rise to over 40% by 2040. Over 25% live alone, with Keene having the highest concentration of seniors in the county. Older adults, especially those living alone, are at greater risk for isolation, poor nutrition, and health issues.
The Senior Center helps keep 400 + seniors stay active and social through wellness programs, clubs, educational programs, games, music and dance groups, social dinners, daily hot lunches, and entertainment. The Cheshire Village at Home program offers services including transportation, household chores, phone check-ins, and social visits, all of which ease the burden on seniors and their families.
New Hampshire does not provide funding for senior centers, so the Keene Senior Center relies on donations to continue serving the community. Please consider supporting this event in 2025. Sponsorships offer visibility through advertising and event materials.
