Meals Served at the Keene Senior Center

​TUESDAYS TOGETHER

A delicious homemade lunch is served every Tuesday at noon at the Keene Senior Center. Tuesdays Together is prepared fresh in our kitchen by Kate Forcier and Operation ABLE trainees, with food donations from the Keene Community Kitchen. Volunteers bake and bring desserts to share.


Lunch costs $3 per person, and preregistration is required, as lunch is limited to 30 people.


GARDEN FRESH FRIDAY

A delicious homemade lunch is served every Friday at noon at the Keene Senior Center. Garden Fresh Friday is a collaborative lunch program between the Senior Center, the Keene Community Kitchen, and Keene State College. Food is prepared fresh in our kitchen by Kate Forcier and Keene State College Nutrition Interns, with food donations from the Keene Community Kitchen. Volunteers bake and bring desserts to share.

Birthday Celebrations! The third Friday of the month we will be celebrating all birthdays of members that occur during the month. If it is your birthday month, your lunch and lunch for one of your friends is FREE.



FRIENDLY MEAL

(Wednesdays-Keene Senior Center)

The Friendly Meals is a community dining program for seniors (those 60 & over, and their spouses, even if they are under age 60).  The Friendly Meals is for seniors who would like to enjoy company with their lunch.  The meals are an opportunity to get reacquainted with others in the community or to make new friends. Friendly Meals are served at Noon at the following locations: 


Dining rooms open Monday through Friday:

  • Keene –Garden Cafe at HCS, 312 Marlboro Street
  • Harper Acres, Castle Street – residents only
  • Hinsdale Millstream Community Center, Main Street
  • Troy Meadowood Friendly Meals, Bowkerville Road

Dining rooms open weekly:

  • Keene - Senior Center, 70 Court Street Serving on Wednesdays only. Please call  603-352-5037 to reserve your space by Monday afternoon of the week you wish to come.

Dining rooms open monthly:

  • Jaffrey VFW Post, Hathorn Road – 3rd Thursday of every month
  • Marlborough Community House, Main Street – 2nd Thursday of every month (except August)
  • Marlow Odd Fellows Hall, Church Street – 1st Tuesday of most months
  • North Walpole 4th Friday of most months
  • Stoddard/Nelson Call for location information – 352-2253 – 4th Tuesday of most months
  • Westmoreland Town Hall – 3rd Tuesday of the month, September through June

Come early, the coffee pot is on!  Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services at (603) 352-2253 by Noon one day in advance.



Meals served at Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth Hitchcock Keene

SENIOR PASSPORT PROGRAM

Eating well, exercising, and staying apprised of health-related information is important at any age. Older adults (60+) can receive a free passport to better health and, at the same time, have an opportunity to partake in the Cheshire Medical Center's passport meal program. Membership in the Senior Passport program entitles participants to free nutrition, exercise, and health education lectures and classes. Members can also enjoy a "Passport Meal" in our dining room. Passport meals include the following; a small salad, an entree with two sides, and a beverage (Vitality water, 8 oz milk, or a small hot beverage) for $4.50. 


Meals are available Monday through Friday, 4:30 to 6:30 PM and Saturdays and Sundays, 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and 4:30-6:30 PM 


Seniors can access the Senior Passport Menu Line at 603-354-6464 x6368. The automated hot food menu is updated weekly by 10:30 AM. Passports are also available at the Information Desk in the Cheshire Medical Center lobby.
